In the activities and tasks of our fast-paced lives, It seems not easy to be mindful all the time, and it’s easy to find ourselves caught up in the whirlwind of daily activities, rushing from one task to another without a moment to spare. In the midst of this chaos, our meals often become just another item on the checklist , hastily consumed, sometimes on the go, with little thought given to what we’re actually putting into our bodies. It’s a common scenario for many of us, navigating through a sea of distractions, deadlines, and demands.

But what if there is a way to transform this routine to a better one , to deliberately turn the act of eating into a more joyful experience? What if there is an easy way to enjoy and feel more even on this fast life ,Do you actually want to upgrade your life?

Mindful eating is a practice that has the power to elevate not just our meals habit but our entire lifestyle. Mindful eating is a powerful practice that can transform the way you relate to the food and even transform your life into the greater one. Well maybe you ask how will that happen and what is mindful eating ?Or maybe you think I do not have time for a new practice and so on, but I promise you do not need more time than the one you spend while you’re eating . Lets go ahead and clear that for you.

What is mindful eating?

Mindful eating is about bringing awareness to your eating habits, paying attention to the sensation and experiences associated with the food , when you have a bite, for a second just leave everything else on the back of your mind and notice what you are doing now . Its not only about what you’re eating but how you’re eating it. Feel it. surely it feels different and you get benefits of mindful eating. That simple.     

What are the benefits of mindful eating?

1.Enhanced enjoyment of food.

When you eat mindfully you fully experience the richness of your meal ,this heightened awareness can lead to a greater appreciation for the act of eating ,the fact that you can have food and you are able to eat it .In fact it’s a reminder that you are a blessed being.

2.Improved digestion .

Mindful eating encourages you to relish each bite, this deliberately allowing your body to break down and absorb nutrients while uplifting your sense of appreciation for your food. your body cells feel what you feel , put them in ease while you eating and let them feel good.

3.Weight management.

Mindful eating can be a powerful tool for weight management .By paying attention to hunger and fullness cues, you more likely to eat in response to physical hunger rather than emotional triggers . you are more in control of you.

4.Increased satisfaction.

Eating mindfully often leads to a greater sense of satisfaction after meals, by truly enjoying your food, you less likely to feel the need of excessive snacking or over eating for satisfaction.

How to practice mindfulness eating?

1.Eat without distractions .

Create a peaceful environment for your meal ,take your time to eat without distractions , your messages and emails also the latest news they all can wait .Take three deep breath and come to NOW moment , get ready to eat.

2.Savour each bite.

Take a look at your food ,notice the colour ,aroma, and arrangement of it. Take your bite ,small manageable bite and take the time to chew it thoroughly ,notice what you are noticing, pay attention to its taste and texture ,Feel it.

3.Listen to your body.

Notice your body position and how it feels .Be comfortable as you can .Make love with your feelings while you eat , notice the satisfaction enjoy it. that increases the sense of well being . Make a small pause every now and then and check the level of your hunger .

4.Express gratitude.

Take a moment to appreciate the effort that went to producing and preparing your meal, bless all the hands that brought it to you and express your gratitude . you are worthy ,love yourself .Enjoy the peace .

5.Reflect on your experience

When you finish take your time to reflect on how you feel

Consider your overall sense of satisfaction. Express gratitude again ,this time for nourishment it provided for you.

6.Start small

If mindful eating is new to you its better to practice it on one meal a day and gradually increase the frequency as you become more comfortable with the practice. Soon you’ll do it even when you have a little time to eat.

Remember the key is being present in the moment, engage your senses fully when you eat .by the time you know how to be present in any moment of time ,not only when you are eating ,and this leads to a greater sense of well being .

Elevate your eating experience

Eating is an daily experience and must be cherished .Its not only fuel providing. By incorporating mindful eating into your daily routine you can elevate your relationship with the food and also with everything else in your life . It takes a little practice ,maybe at first you are not able to do it fully but with time and will , you ‘ll be able to take it to further more and extend mindfulness into your whole life ,regardless of how busy you are ,It leads to improved well being and healthier happier you.

    It’s the first time I heard about mindful eating, and I can say it’s pretty fascinating. I am always on the go and, unfortunately, don’t take the time I need to enjoy the food I eat. I guess I have to practice every day and meditate even when I am not degusting a meal.
